Common Inquiries

Tree Surgery questions answered

The questions we are asked most often about our tree surgery work, from preparation through to finish.

Still have questions?

Our expert team is ready to help guide your project.

What tree work do you carry out?
Crown reduction and thinning, pruning, deadwooding, felling, sectional dismantling, stump grinding and hedge reduction.
Are your tree surgeons qualified and insured?
Yes. Our climbers hold NPTC/City & Guilds chainsaw and aerial rescue certification and we carry full public liability insurance.
Do I need permission to cut down a tree?
You do if the tree is protected by a Tree Preservation Order or sits in a conservation area. We check this and can submit the notification on your behalf.
Do you grind out or remove the stump?
We can grind stumps below ground level so the area can be turfed, paved or replanted, or leave them if you prefer.
What happens to the branches and waste?
Everything is chipped and removed, or we can leave logs and chip on site if you would like to keep them.
When is the best time for tree work?
Most pruning is best in late autumn to early spring. We avoid nesting season where birds are present, in line with wildlife legislation.
